FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT and CALL FOR PAPERS

The 3rd International E'NDE Workshop on Electromagnetic Non-Destructive Evaluation will be held in Reggio Calabria, Italy, from September 14 to 16, 1997, following ISIS'97 (September 11-13, Reggio Calabria, Italy). Previous E'NDE Workshops were held at the University College London, UK (1995) and at the University of Tokyo, Japan (1996). The aim of E'NDE Workshops is to provide a forum to discuss recent developments and exchange up-to-date information in the field of the electromagnetic nondestructive evaluation (E'NDE) and also to give the place for the proposal and discussion of benchmark problems.

  • Workshop site:
    The workshop will be held at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Reggio Calabria, loc. Feo di Vito, 89100 Reggio Calabria, which is located within a walking distance from the railway station (downtown) and about 5 Km from Reggio Calabria Airport.

    Workshop programme:
    The workshop will last for two and a half days, starting from the afternoon of Sunday, September 14, 1997. Both contributed papers and invited lectures will be featured. Standard presentation facilities (over-head and slide projectors, VHS video, etc.) will be available. English will be the official language of the workshop. A preliminary workshop programme will be distributed to all registrants before the workshop. The workshop site will also host a related event, i.e. the International Symposium on Intelligent Systems (ISIS '97), from September 11 to 13, 1997. A welcome drink will be offered to participants and accompanying persons on Sunday, September 14, 1997. A banquet will be held in the evening of the day after. Accompanying persons' activities and tours to the city and its surroundings will be organized and communicated at a later date.

    Registration:
    Please fill out the attached registration form and return it to the secretariat by June 20, 1997. Registered participants will have access to all workshop technical activities and will receive the workshop programme, a copy of the digest of the short versions and a copy of the workshop proceedings. In addition the registration fee covers welcome drink, banquet and coffee breaks.

    Full registration fee:
    420,000 Italian Lira, to be paid cash on site at the registration desk.

    Please make sure that the transfer is free of charge to the beneficiary, and that the participant's name and workshop reference E'NDE are indicated on all money transfers. In case of cancellation, communicated by September 10, 1997, an amount of 320,000 will be refunded.

    Reduced registration fees:
    The members of the International COMPUMAG Society are entitled to a reduction of 20,000 Italian Lira on the registration fee.

    Publication:
    A short version of papers should be submitted in two copies to the secretariat by June 20, 1997. The short version should be typed on standard size (A4 or letter size) paper, leaving a margin of 25 mm on left and right sides and of 30 mm at top and bottom. The short version should not exceed 2 pages including figures, tables and references. The full-length papers presented at the workshop will be reviewed by an editorial committee and included in the proceedings of E'NDE - Reggio Calabria, published by IOS Press in the series 'Studies in Applied Electromagnetics and Mechanics'. The full papers must be submitted at the registration desk at the workshop site, following the instructions that will be communicated to the authors at a later stage.
